The program
The Wildlife Olympiad is Bangladesh’s first national olympiad on wildlife and nature conservation, run by the Bangladesh Forest Department under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change through the World Bank-funded Sustainable Forests and Livelihoods (SUFAL) project. It launched in March 2024 under the slogan “Smart youth will save the forest”, open to school and college students from class 8 to 12, with district rounds at 64 venues and a national final in Dhaka. My role
I was the olympiad’s social media manager.
- Running the channels. Facebook, Instagram and YouTube (@bfdwlo): registration pushes, round announcements, results and coverage.
- Making the graphics. Awareness posts for conservation days (Earth Day, International Day of Forests, World Meteorological Day), Ekushe February, and greetings for Pohela Boishakh and the New Year, all in one consistent green identity.
- On the ground. I travelled to districts around the country to help launch the program locally: meeting schools, introducing the olympiad to students and teachers, and covering the events for social media.
