The olympiad
BdMSO, organized by BdOSN and SPSB, is Bangladesh’s national olympiad for primary-school students (grade 6 or below). Each year it selects six students for maths and six for science to represent the country at the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO). As Digital and Social Media Coordinator, I handle the team’s digital and social media: the posts and covers for every step of the season (registration, admit cards, schedules, sample questions, results and partner announcements), plus event coverage. Event photos are by the event photographers.
2025: the first season
- National round on 22 August 2025 at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Dhaka, with 200+ students and 52 award winners.
- A national camp and Team Selection Test picked the twelve-member team.
- IMSO 2025 in Kedah, Malaysia (5–9 October, 23 countries): Bangladesh’s debut, and every team member won a medal, with 2 silver and 10 bronze. The team also won the Best Cooperative Team award and placed runner-up in the STEM Exploration Competition.
2026: the second season
- Kicked off with a four-hour team orientation for mentors, volunteers and coordinators.
- Online registration from 20 May to 31 July, the National Olympiad on 8 August, an online national camp and the Team Selection Test on 21–22 August.
- Preparatory camp for the team heading to IMSO 2026 in Indonesia, including an evening at IUB’s astronomy centre (CASSA) with telescopes over Dhaka.
The website
bdmso.org runs the whole season:
- Programs. Thirteen program pages, a seven-stage “Road to IMSO” timeline, eligibility rules and syllabus downloads.
- Registration portal. Families register, get a BdMSO ID and admit card, and manage it from a dashboard.
- Payments that fit Bangladesh. Card or mobile banking (bKash, Nagad, Rocket) through ShurjoPay, with a guardian guide in English and Bangla.
- Results and news. A “Hall of Excellence” for every season and a blog with RSS.
I rebuilt bdmso.org end to end with AI coding tools on Astro and Cloudflare (D1, R2), including the admin dashboard and the ShurjoPay integration. Within three months it had 25,000+ unique visitors, 150,000+ page views and 1,000+ paid registrations. On the ground, I coordinated 20+ volunteers across the national olympiad, camp and team selection test.
